At the end of 2018, Alyssa sadly sold Quintessential Hit to Terri Sue Wensinger of Texas. This emotional decision came at the end of a brilliant career together. Alyssa had been involved with Quin from before his mother was bred to his sire, and she trained him throughout his entire career up until his sale. He was to be her 2020 Olympic hopeful, and along the way, they debuted at Grand Prix in 2019 with scores in the 70s, winning the USDF Regionals with a 71.379%. In 2018, he was the USDF Horse of the Year at Prix St Georges with a 75.066% median and was the USDF Reserve Horse of the Year at Intermediate I with a 74.211% median and scores to 79%. In 2015, as a 6 year old, he was the USDF Horse of the Year with a 77% median score.

Steffen Peters has been showing Quin at CDIs in 2019, and has been cleaning up in the Prix St Georges and Intermediate I. He was quoted in the Chronicle of the Horse: “[Former owner and rider] Alyssa Pitts did a wonderful job with him,” said Steffen. “She had him since he was a baby. The fact that I can get on and put this horse in the show arena with one week, that certainly says a lot about Alyssa’s training and Terri Sue Wensinger, who had him in Texas for a little while. She’ll take over the reins next week, but I’m very thankful and grateful that I got to show him here this weekend. He’s a very honest guy.”
